Kindergarten Morning Work
Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
"Kindergarten Morning Work" is written for Kindergarten (Ages 5-6). Children a grade either side can use it too: younger ones with an adult reading it aloud, older ones as a quick refresher.

A morning work page with the date, a letter to trace, counting and a feelings check-in. Free for kindergarten. Part of our morning work activity packets collection.
How do I use this resource?
Put this on desks as children arrive so they have a settled task while you take attendance. Go over the weather and feelings boxes together once everyone is seated, so they double as a morning meeting. Early in the year, read each direction aloud. At home, this works as a quick start before breakfast on a weekend, and the How Do I Feel box opens a good chat.

What does this resource teach?
⌄
A full kindergarten morning work page with five boxes and a line for the name and date. Letter of the Day has children trace M and m, then circle each m in a row of letters. Number of the Day asks them to trace 6, color 6 boxes in a ten frame and fill in a count-on blank. Children then count dots in three dice faces, circle the weather and draw their face to show how they feel.

Can I use this morning work resource for homeschool or classroom?
⌄
Yes, both. We made it for Kindergarten activity packets, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with morning work. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.
How many Kindergarten morning work resources are there?
⌄
1 printable resource, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.
What age are morning work resources for?
⌄
These are written for Kindergarten students, roughly ages 5-6. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
