About these worksheets

6th grade science worksheets on ClassWeekly are 112 printable sheets for ages 11-12 across 10 topics, each with an answer key. They cover atoms and the periodic table, cells and body systems, heredity, ecosystems, plate tectonics, weather, the solar system, forces, energy, waves and the scientific method.

6th grade science stops asking what happens and starts asking why. Students model atoms and cells, read graphs of motion and temperature, and use evidence to explain patterns such as plate boundaries and moon phases.

The 112 worksheets are split into 10 topics: Living Things (26), Matter (21), Earth Science (11), Ecosystems (10), Scientific Method (9), Forces and Motion (8), Earth Systems (8), Earth and Space (8), Energy (7), Waves and Light (4). Every sheet carries what it needs on the page: a short reading, a labeled diagram or a data table, then questions answered from it. No outside textbook is needed.

Every sheet has an answer key. 58 of the 112 show the middle school NGSS performance expectation they practice. The rest carry no code rather than a loose match. Tables marked sample or class data are made up for practice.

One sheet is about 15 minutes of work. Have your student point to the sentence, label or table row that gives each answer.
