2nd Grade Animals Worksheets
Ages 7-8 · 15 sub-topics · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs
Animals are living things that eat, grow and change, and each one lives in a habitat that gives it food, water and shelter. These animal worksheets for 2nd grade have children read about life in a pond, a coral reef, the Arctic tundra, a kelp forest and other habitats, compare camels with caribou and sort animals by hot or cold home (NGSS 2-LS4-1). On the read and label pages, children read about a sea star, an emperor penguin, an elephant, a great horned owl, a crab or a honeybee and label its body parts, and other passages explain how a polar bear stays warm and how an octopus hides. The topic also has life cycle pages, such as how a kangaroo joey grows, food chains from a backyard to a river, and classification and diet sorts. There are 80 sheets, each with an answer key.
