Frequently Asked Questions

Opposites are pairs of words that mean very different things, like big and small, hot and cold or up and down. Talking about them helps preschoolers notice how things compare, and it builds the describing words they will use when they start to talk and write about what they see. The 26 pages here use pictures only. On the match the opposites pages, children draw a line between two pictures that show opposites, four clear pairs per page, like a big elephant and a small mouse. On the circle the opposite pages, a grown-up says a word and the child circles the picture that shows it. Every pair is one a child can see at a glance, and every page comes with an answer key.
