Frequently Asked Questions

A child's own name is usually the first word they want to write, and the letters in it are often the first ones they learn. Between ages 4 and 5, many children write a recognizable version of their name, uneven letters and all capitals included, which is completely normal. The 27 pages here keep name writing personal. There is a giant letter for every letter of the alphabet, A to Z, so a child can pick the one their name starts with, then color and decorate it while saying its name. On the write my name with help page, a grown-up writes the child's name in highlighter and the child traces over it three times. Nothing on these pages needs to be read, and there are no wrong answers.
