When is the Hour of Code 2026?

Classes run an Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week in early December, held around Grace Hopper's birthday on December 9. Any hour that week works, and the activities here also work any time of year.

Do these Hour of Code activities need computers?

No. They are unplugged: students give each other code with block and direction cards, plan routes on coding grids, find the bug in an algorithm, and write their names in binary on a bead bracelet.

What coding activities work for kindergarten?

Code a Classmate block cards, coding direction cards and the treasure hunt course, where children move a classmate or a game piece one step at a time. Each page lists its grade range.
