Preschool Sight Words Worksheets

Sight words are common words a child learns to recognize on sight, without sounding them out. Short words such as a, and, big and come appear constantly in early books, and some of them do not follow the usual phonics patterns, so knowing them by heart frees a young reader to focus on everything else on the page.

These 70 pages introduce one word at a time and come back to it in different ways. Children trace a sight word, write it on their own and circle it in a row of words; circle every copy of a word hidden in a box and count how many they found; match identical words across two columns; and read color words aloud before coloring the box beside each one. A grown-up can keep finished pages in a small stack for quick review. All 70 have answer keys.
