When is Las Posadas 2026?

Las Posadas is celebrated for nine nights, from December 16 to December 24, 2026, ending on Christmas Eve.

A Christmas tradition from Mexico that families in Guatemala and many U.S. communities also keep. Each night a procession acts out Mary and Joseph's search for shelter, singing at doors until a host welcomes them in, and the evening ends with a party, often with a star piñata, tamales and ponche.

Are the Las Posadas activities in Spanish?

Many are. There are Spanish-only pages such as Lotería de las posadas, Veo, veo, Sopa de letras, Historia: Las posadas and a Spanish activity book, plus bilingual posters and word mats, and English versions of the readers, crafts and games.

What Las Posadas activities work for preschool and kindergarten?
