Frequently Asked Questions

A sentence is a complete thought, like The cat is sleeping. Preschoolers say sentences all day, and before they can read or write one, they can learn that a sentence tells about something and that its words go in a set order. The 32 pages here start with listening. On the match the sentence to the picture pages, a grown-up reads a short sentence, such as I see a dog, and the child draws a line to the picture it tells about. On the trace the sentence pages, the child listens to one short sentence of four words or fewer, looks at its picture, and traces the sentence two times on large lines. The 16 matching pages come with answer keys.
