FAQ

How do I use the Homeschool Field Trip Planner?

⌄

Fill in the top half with your child before the trip, so they arrive with questions. Complete the After the trip section the same day or the next. File the finished page in the portfolio as a record of learning outside the home.

What is the Homeschool Field Trip Planner?

⌄

A one-page field trip planner with Where are we going, When and Cost lines, What we want to learn and Questions to ask boxes, a packing checklist (water bottle, snack or lunch, notebook and pencil, camera, map or directions, jacket or sun hat, tickets or pass, first aid kit), and an After the trip section with What I learned and a Draw it box.

Can I use the Homeschool Field Trip Planner at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for Preschool to 5th Grade homeschool planning, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

What planning pages are included?

⌄

Thirty resources in four groups: planners (weekly, monthly, yearly, daily, multi-child, lesson, field trip and goals), trackers (attendance, reading log, grades, hours, books read, assignments, a report card and a progress report), portfolio pages (a cover, subject dividers, work sample records, a year in review and more), and a pacing guide for each grade from kindergarten to 5th.

Which grades do the planners work for?

⌄

The planners, trackers and portfolio pages work for any grade from Pre-K to 5th, and teachers can use them too. The pacing guides are written for one grade each, from kindergarten to 5th.

Are the monthly planners dated?

⌄

No. Each month page, August to July, has a blank grid with a small box in each cell to write the date, so the planner works for any year.

Can these pages help with record keeping?

⌄

Yes. The attendance tracker counts 180 school days, the hours log records instruction hours by subject, and the grade tracker, report card, progress report and work sample records build a portfolio. Rules differ by state, so check what your state asks families to keep.

How are the pacing guides organized?

⌄

Each guide splits the year into four 9-week quarters, with a year at a glance and then math, reading and writing, and science and social studies quarter by quarter, built from the skills ClassWeekly has resources for at that grade.
