What 1st grade worksheets are available on ClassWeekly?

1st grade worksheets on ClassWeekly cover math, reading, writing, and grammar for children ages 6-7. Each worksheet targets a specific Common Core 1st grade standard and is designed for 10 to 20 minutes of focused practice. Topics include addition and subtraction within 20, phonics, fluency, nouns, verbs, and simple sentence writing.

1st grade is the first real workload year. Your kid is reading short books, writing simple sentences, adding and subtracting within 20, telling time to the half hour, and learning sight words by the dozen. The jump from kindergarten is real. Worksheets get longer, sentences appear on every page, and "show your work" starts to mean something.

The 1st grade hub covers all four core subjects. Math: addition and subtraction within 20, place value to 120, comparing numbers, simple fractions (halves, quarters), telling time, money, and shape attributes. Reading: phonics (blends, digraphs, long vowels), sight words, fluency, and early comprehension. Grammar: capitalization, ending punctuation, nouns, verbs, simple sentences. Writing: letter formation in print and early cursive.

Every worksheet is aligned to a specific Common Core 1st grade standard, with the code printed on the page.

The right amount of practice for a 1st grader is 15 to 20 minutes most days. Some days they'll fly through three worksheets. Other days one page is a battle. Both are fine. Consistency matters more than volume.

If your kid was strong in kindergarten and is now hitting walls, that's normal. The shift from spoken work (counting aloud, naming letters) to written work (writing equations, writing sentences) is a real cognitive jump. Practice in small doses helps the muscle build.

If summer is coming and you want to hold the line, ten minutes a day on this hub is enough to keep skills warm.
