FAQ

How do I use this cutting practice worksheet?

⌄

Use child-safe scissors and stay close by. Show how the thumb goes on top and how the other hand turns the paper on curves. One or two strips a day is plenty when your child is just starting out.

What does this worksheet teach?

⌄

Six cutting pages that get harder step by step. Children cut strips with straight roads, wavy water and zigzag lines, starting at a green dot on the left edge, then cut a spiral snake from tail to head and cut out four big shapes on thick lines. The last page is a four-piece picture puzzle to cut and glue, with an answer key.

Can I use this cutting practice worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Preschool fine motor skills, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with cutting practice. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Preschool cutting practice worksheets are there?

⌄

6 printable worksheets, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are cutting practice worksheets for?

⌄

These are written for preschool children, roughly ages 3-5. Start with the first few pages, use the free preview to judge the fit, and come back to harder ones as your child gets steadier.

Does my child need to write letters already?

⌄

No. Pages start with tracing over dashed guides and build up to writing on their own, one small step at a time.
