How do I use this resource?

Choose the chores that fit your home and the child's age, and agree on the allowance or reward up front. The child checks off each chore as it is done. Count the total on Sunday and pay out or reward based on the score.

What students will practice

  • Turns a behavior or habit goal into something a child can see and track, one sticker, token or check at a time.
  • Pairs a clear goal with a reward agreed in advance, so expectations are concrete for the child and the adult.
  • Supports positive behavior plans at school and routines and chores at home.

What is the Chore Checklist for Big Kids?

⌄

A one-page Chore Checklist for Big Kids with 10 chores and small icons: vacuum a room, take out the trash, sweep the floor, do a load of laundry, walk the dog, mop the floor, help cook dinner, pack my lunch, feed the pet and rake the leaves. Each chore runs Monday to Sunday, with a Chores done this week score out of 70 and an Allowance or reward box.

Can I use the Chore Checklist for Big Kids at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for 2nd Grade to 5th Grade reward and behavior charts, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

What charts are on this page?

⌄

Two charts for 2nd to 5th grade: a 50 Point Reward Chart with reward stops at 10, 25 and 50 points, and a Chore Checklist for Big Kids with 10 chores tracked Monday to Sunday and an allowance or reward box.

How does the 50 point reward chart work?

⌄

Color or mark a numbered square for each point earned. Agree on a small reward at 10 points, a bigger one at 25 and a big one at 50, so older kids practice saving up for something worth waiting for.
