FAQ

How do I use this rhyming poems worksheet?

⌄

Read the poem twice, the second time pausing before each rhyming word so the child can fill it in. Clapping along to the rhythm adds to the fun of the poem.

What does this worksheet teach?

⌄

Each page starts with a short poem, such as Twinkle, twinkle or Hickory dickory. After reading it together, children circle the word in each row that rhymes with the boxed word. An answer key comes with every poem.

Can I use this rhyming poems worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Preschool poems, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with rhyming poems. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Preschool rhyming poems worksheets are there?

⌄

10 printable worksheets, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are rhyming poems worksheets for?

⌄

These are written for preschool children, roughly ages 3-5. Start with the first few pages, use the free preview to judge the fit, and come back to harder ones as your child gets steadier.

Does my child need to know how to write for these rhyming poems worksheets?

⌄

No. Most pages ask children to circle, match, color, or cut and paste, and a grown-up can read the instructions aloud, so children do not need to read or write yet.
