  • Supports a math wall display, fine-motor centers, and a hands-on shape hunt.

FAQ

How do I use this symmetry resource?

⌄

Show how to count dots from the center line on the drawn side, then match that count on the empty side. Start with the ghost, which is the simplest shape, and save the bat for last. Fold the finished page along the dashed line to check the halves match.

What does this resource teach?

⌄

Two pages with four half pictures, a pumpkin, a ghost, a bat and a cat face, each drawn on a dot grid with a dashed line down the middle. Children copy the missing half dot by dot to complete a symmetrical picture.

Can I use this symmetry resource for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Kindergarten to 3rd Grade shapes, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with symmetry. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Kindergarten to 3rd Grade symmetry resources are there?

⌄

1 printable resource, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are symmetry resources for?

⌄

These are written for Kindergarten to 3rd Grade students, roughly ages 5-9. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
