Halloween safety cut and sort for K to 2nd grade: 8 trick-or-treat picture cards to glue under Safe or Not Safe. Good for SPED and social skills. Part of our halloween safety speech & language collection.

How do I use this resource?

Talk through each card before cutting: what is happening, and would a grown-up say yes or no? Then cut, sort and glue. For students who struggle with scissors, pre-cut the cards and let them sort on the mat first. Revisit the mat the day before Halloween as a quick safety review.

What students will practice

  • Gives Kindergarten students visual supports for communication, daily routines, and question-asking skills.
  • Builds language through picture-based practice: wh-questions, schedules, feelings, and social problem-solving.
  • Supports speech-language goals and special education routines with reusable cards, boards, and posters.

What does this resource teach?

⌄

A sorting mat with two columns, Safe and Not Safe, and a page of eight picture cards: walking with a grown-up, carrying a flashlight, staying on the sidewalk, letting a grown-up check candy, and four not-safe choices like running into the street or eating candy before it is checked.

Can I use this halloween safety resource for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade speech & language, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with halloween safety. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Kindergarten to 2nd Grade halloween safety resources are there?

⌄

1 printable resource, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are halloween safety resources for?

⌄

These are written for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade students, roughly ages 5-8. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
