FAQ

How do I use this social stories resource?

⌄

Read it together several times in the week before Halloween, not just the night before, so the routine feels familiar. Pause on each page and ask what the child will do. Send a copy home so families can read it right before going out. It also works for a class party or a school costume parade.

What does this resource teach?

⌄

A six-page social story written in short first-person sentences with one large picture per page: wearing a costume, walking with a grown-up, knocking and waiting, saying trick or treat and thank you, having candy checked, and staying calm and safe. A cover page is included.

Can I use this social stories resource for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade speech & language, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with social stories. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Kindergarten to 2nd Grade social stories resources are there?

⌄

1 printable resource, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are social stories resources for?

⌄

These are written for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade students, roughly ages 5-8. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
