Free Printable Teaching Guides
Instructional guides for teachers and parents
About these printable teaching guides
Step-by-step guides for teaching a skill, written for the adult rather than the child. Use them when you know what needs teaching but want a sequence you can trust rather than working the order out yourself.
This is the smallest section on the site and is still growing. If there is a guide you want and cannot find, the worksheet and resource sections around it cover the same skills in practice form.
Frequently asked questions
- Who are these guides written for?
- Teachers and parents, not students. They explain the order to teach a skill in and the common sticking points, rather than being something a child completes.
- Do I need any special materials?
- No. Everything is designed around a printer, standard paper, and pencils. Where a guide suggests an optional manipulative, there is usually a printable alternative in the math tools section.
- Are more guides coming?
- Yes, this section is being added to. In the meantime the worksheet, resource, and teaching wiki sections cover the same skills from a practice and reference angle.
