How do I use this resource?
Students color the pumpkin orange, cut out the pieces they like and try them on before gluing. Ask each child to name the feeling their face shows. For young cutters, pre-cut the boxes and let them trim the shapes.
What students will practice
- Gives Kindergarten students seasonal counting, vocabulary, and fine-motor activities themed around Christmas and Easter.
- Builds early counting and matching skills alongside coloring and cutting practice that strengthens pencil control.
- Works as low-pressure seasonal filler for the days around a holiday break, not core skill instruction.

What does this resource teach?
⌄
A full-page pumpkin outline with a stem and vine, and a page of face pieces in dashed cut boxes: three pairs of eyes, two noses and three mouths, so every child can build a different jack-o'-lantern face.
Can I use this cutting skills resource for homeschool or classroom?
⌄
Yes, both. We made it for Preschool to 1st Grade holiday activities, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with cutting skills. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.
How many Preschool to 1st Grade cutting skills resources are there?
⌄
2 printable resources, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.
What age are cutting skills resources for?
⌄
These are written for Preschool to 1st Grade students, roughly ages 4-7. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
