What kindergarten social studies worksheets are on ClassWeekly?

ClassWeekly social studies worksheets cover community helpers, maps, government, national parks, U.S. states, world landmarks, elections, economics, presidents, biographies, ancient civilizations, colonial America, the American Revolution, the Constitution, westward expansion, the Civil War, and world geography for Kindergarten through 5th Grade, aligned to the C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards. There are 1,967 worksheets in the current catalog.

Social Studies is one of the newer subjects on ClassWeekly, and it starts where social studies actually starts for young kids: the people and places they can see and understand directly, before moving into the wider world and the American story.

Kindergarten covers community helpers (firefighters, doctors, mail carriers), basic map skills, what a job is, simple history, and the very first ideas of civics (rules, fairness, being part of a group). 1st Grade builds on that with the U.S. government and its symbols, all 50 states (shapes, capitals, and nicknames), national parks, U.S. and world landmarks, presidents, and biographies of notable Americans. 2nd Grade goes further into maps and map grids, elections and the three branches of government, economics (goods and services, producers and consumers, scarcity), world cultures, and a much larger set of biographies and historical figures. 3rd Grade is the deepest early catalog: all 50 state flags and capitals, map skills like latitude/longitude and map scale, the three branches of government and the Constitution, a large U.S. history unit (city histories, the American Revolution, civil rights, biographies), Native Nations, world cultures and foods, economics (supply and demand, costs and benefits), and research skills like telling fact from opinion or a primary source from a secondary one.

4th Grade steps into ancient civilizations (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, China) alongside a much larger geography unit (regions, landforms, biomes, world continents), civics and government (the three branches, elections, local government), economics (banks, businesses, supply and demand), and history and source-analysis skills (reading primary sources, sequencing events, comparing accounts). 5th Grade is a full narrative arc of early U.S. history: exploration and Native Nations before 1600, the thirteen colonies and colonial life, the road to revolution and the Revolutionary War, the Declaration and the Constitution, the young republic through Westward expansion, the causes and course of the Civil War and Reconstruction, immigration and industry, the twentieth century, and the civil rights movement, alongside map skills, all 50 states and capitals, world geography, economics, and research skills.

The C3 Framework (College, Career, and Civic Life) is what most states build their social studies standards from, and it's built around four dimensions: developing questions, applying disciplinary tools (like reading a simple map or weighing a primary source), evaluating sources, and communicating conclusions. At the earliest grades that looks concrete and simple, sorting jobs by what tools they use, or writing a state's name from its capital and nickname; by 5th Grade it stretches to reading a secession map, comparing two accounts of the same event, or arguing whether a historical decision was justified.
