FAQ

How do I use this pencil control worksheet?

⌄

Use a short, thick crayon or pencil, which is easier for small hands to grip. Go slowly and praise staying close to the line more than finishing fast. Slip a page into a sheet protector to practice again with a dry-erase marker.

What does this worksheet teach?

⌄

Six pencil control pages: driving along three curvy roads, coloring inside four big shapes, tracing spirals on snail shells, tracing big, medium and small bubbles, finishing pictures by tracing the missing lines, and following curvy balloon strings. Every tracing page starts at a green dot.

Can I use this pencil control worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for Preschool fine motor skills, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with pencil control. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How many Preschool pencil control worksheets are there?

⌄

6 printable worksheets, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are pencil control worksheets for?

⌄

These are written for preschool children, roughly ages 3-5. Start with the first few pages, use the free preview to judge the fit, and come back to harder ones as your child gets steadier.

Does my child need to write letters already?

⌄

No. Pages start with tracing over dashed guides and build up to writing on their own, one small step at a time.
