Spin and Graph Shapes
Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
"Spin and Graph Shapes" is written for Kindergarten (Ages 5-6). Children a grade either side can use it too: younger ones with an adult reading it aloud, older ones as a quick refresher.

2 pages in this set
Spin and graph shapes for kindergarten: spin a paper clip spinner 10 times and color a bar graph box for each shape you land on. Part of our dice and spinner games collection.
How do I use this resource?
Show children how to hold the paper clip at the center with a pencil and flick it. After 10 spins, ask which shape won and how many more times it came up than the others.
What students will practice
- Turns sight word, phonics and math fact practice into a game children want to play again.
- Builds speaking and listening skills as players read aloud and check each other's answers.
- Works for partners, small groups, centers or the whole class with little setup.

FAQ
How do I use the Spin and Graph Shapes?
⌄
Show children how to hold the paper clip at the center with a pencil and flick it. After 10 spins, ask which shape won and how many more times it came up than the others.
What is the Spin and Graph Shapes?
⌄
Two pages: a shape spinner with a triangle, star, square and circle to cut out, with a note on how to spin it with a paper clip and a pencil, then a bar graph to color for 10 spins.
Can I use the Spin and Graph Shapes at home and in the classroom?
⌄
Yes. We made it for Kindergarten learning games, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.
What learning games are there for kindergarten and 1st grade?
⌄
Sight word bingo, roll and read, race board games for adding and subtracting, I Have Who Has card games, roll and cover, spin and graph shapes, and roll a word family.
What do I need to play?
⌄
Most games need a die, crayons or counters. The race board games include game pieces to cut out, and the spin and graph game uses a paper clip and a pencil as the spinner.
How many children can play the kindergarten games?
⌄
Bingo and I Have Who Has work for the whole class. Board games are for 2 to 4 players, and roll and read can be played alone or with a partner.
How do kindergartners check their answers?
⌄
The race board games have an answer strip that a partner uses to check each answer, so children can play on their own in a center.
