What 4th grade worksheets are available on ClassWeekly?

4th grade worksheets on ClassWeekly cover math, reading, writing, and grammar for children ages 9-10. Each worksheet targets a specific Common Core 4th grade standard and is designed for 20 to 30 minutes of practice. Topics include multi-digit multiplication, long division, fraction operations, informational text analysis, and multi-paragraph writing.

4th grade is where the abstract starts. Multi-digit multiplication, long division, decimals, equivalent fractions, and measurement conversions all land this year. Reading shifts heavily toward informational text and analysis. Writing expects multi-paragraph responses with evidence. State assessments hit hard in 4th grade in most states.

The 4th grade hub covers all four subjects. Math: multi-digit multiplication (up to 4 by 1 and 2 by 2), long division with remainders, fractions (equivalence, comparison, addition with like denominators), decimals to hundredths, area and perimeter formulas, angle measurement, factors and multiples. Reading: longer informational passages, theme, point of view, comparing texts, summarizing. Grammar: prepositions, modal verbs, progressive tenses, complex compound sentences. Writing: multi-paragraph essays, opinion writing with evidence, research-based explanatory writing.

Every worksheet aligns to a specific Common Core 4th grade standard. The code is printed on the page.

The 4th grade math wall is real. Multi-digit multiplication is the first algorithm that requires real procedural fluency. Long division has even more steps and more places to make mistakes. If your kid is shaky on either, slow down. Five focused worksheets done correctly beats fifteen done sloppily. Boxed methods (area model, partial products) often work better than the standard algorithm for kids who get lost in the columns.

Reading and writing get heavier. Passages are 400 to 700 words. Writing prompts ask for multi-paragraph responses. Don't be surprised if your strong 3rd grade reader hits a slump in fall. Most do.
