FAQ

How do I use the After Winter Break Penguin Glyph?

⌄

Use it on the first days back in January as a get-to-know-you activity. Display the finished penguins and ask children to read a classmate's glyph using the key.

What is the After Winter Break Penguin Glyph?

⌄

A one-page glyph with a penguin outline and a six-question key: Did you play outside?, Did you help with chores?, Did you see family?, Did you read a book?, Did you play in snow or rain?, Are you glad to be back at school? Each answer sets a yes or no color for the hat, scarf, belly, beak, flippers or feet.

Can I use the After Winter Break Penguin Glyph at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade coloring pages, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

What kinds of coloring pages are there?

⌄

Animals, seasons and holidays, community helpers, space and nature, a full alphabet set from A to Z, a numbers 1 to 10 set, color by code pages, and themed pages that go with our weekly themes.

Are these coloring pages good for kindergarten?

⌄

Yes. The outlines are thick and the spaces are big, so they suit crayons and young hands. Many pages also print the name of each picture, so children can read the words as they color.

How do color by code pages work?

⌄

Each space holds a sight word, a picture, a number word or a math fact. Children read or solve it, find the matching color in the key, and color the space to reveal a picture. Every color by code page has an answer key.

Do I need a color printer?

⌄

No. The coloring pages are black and white line art, so they print well on any home or school printer.
