Write the month and dates in together at the start of the month. Children color a book each day they read, and the colored boxes show the reading streak at a glance.

What is the Monthly Reading Log Calendar?

⌄

A one-page month calendar with a box for every day. Children write the minutes they read each day and color the little book in that box.

Can I use the Monthly Reading Log Calendar at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for Kindergarten to 5th Grade reading logs, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

Which reading log should I use?

⌄

For early readers, the picture log or the color in bookshelf. For a nightly habit, the daily, weekly or 20 minutes a day log. For homework that needs a signature, the parent signature log. Older readers can use the genre tracker or the reading response log.

Most work for any grade from kindergarten to 5th. The picture log and bookshelf suit kindergarten to 2nd grade, and the genre tracker and reading response log are for 2nd or 3rd grade and up.

⌄

Yes. The summer reading log has columns for June, July and August and a box for a summer reading goal.
