Weather True or False Review

Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher

"Weather True or False Review" is written for 3rd Grade (Ages 8-9). If your little one is a year younger but already steady on weather and climate, the page still works. You may just need to read the instructions out loud. And if they are older and weather patterns never quite stuck, this is a short review rather than busywork.

3rd grade science worksheet: mark 10 weather review statements true or false. Answer key included. Part of our weather patterns collection. Aligned to NGSS standards.

How do I use this worksheet?

Start with something students can look at or think about: a photo, a short video, a jar on the windowsill, or a question like "what do you already know about weather patterns?" Then let them work through it independently, using a partner or small group only if they want to talk through their thinking, keeping a word bank or anchor chart in view so the vocabulary stays available. When you review, ask students how they knew, and let them point to the part of the diagram or reading that told them. These weather patterns worksheets work well as a lead in before an investigation, as a way to capture what students noticed afterward, or as review before an assessment.

What students will practice

  • Identify and describe recurring weather patterns across different seasons
  • Collect and record weather data over a period of time to spot a pattern
  • Use weather pattern data to make a simple prediction about upcoming weather

What does this worksheet teach?

⌄

Mark 10 weather review statements true or false. Weather is what the air is like at one place and time: hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or windy. The directions on the page read: Read the weather facts. Circle T if a statement is true or F if it is false. Then, turn the page. On page 2: Use the facts on page 1. Circle T if a statement is true or F if it is false. Then, choose two you marked F, write each number and rewrite it to make it true. The answer key shows every answer.

Can I use this weather patterns worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for 3rd Grade weather and climate, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with weather patterns. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

What does weather patterns teach third graders?

⌄

Weather patterns teaches students that weather is not random, it follows predictable trends based on season, location, and time of year. Third graders learn to collect and interpret weather data, identify recurring patterns, and use that knowledge to make simple predictions. This builds both science observation skills and early data literacy.

When do third graders learn about weather patterns?

⌄

Weather patterns is a core topic in Grade 3 earth science, often taught alongside weather forecasting and climate. At ages 8-9, students can handle multi-day observation projects and begin to understand averages and trends in simple data sets. The topic integrates naturally with math skills like graphing and charting.

How can I use these worksheets at home?

⌄

Have your child check the weather forecast each morning for a week and record it on the worksheet, then compare predictions to what actually happened. This turns the activity into a live science experiment using real data. Even short daily observations reinforce the habit of noticing patterns, which is a skill that extends well beyond weather science.

How many 3rd Grade weather patterns worksheets are there?

⌄

4 printable worksheets, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are weather patterns worksheets for?

⌄

These are written for 3rd Grade students, roughly ages 8-9. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.

Are these weather patterns worksheets aligned to NGSS?

⌄

Yes. Each one shows the NGSS code it covers on its own page, so you can check the alignment yourself rather than taking our word for it.
