These story elements worksheets for 2nd grade help children map out a whole story. On the story map pages, children read an original story, like a rained out game or a forgotten bike lock code, then write the characters, setting, problem, three events from the beginning, middle and end, and the solution on lines. On the problem and solution pages, they read one longer story and two mini stories about pets, sports day, the kitchen and more, write each problem and solution, then think of a different way to solve it (CCSS RL.2.3). Sixteen original sheets, each with an answer key.
