1st Grade Story Elements Worksheets

Ages 6-7 · 2 sub-topics · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs

These story elements worksheets for 1st grade teach children to find who is in a story, where it happens, what goes wrong and how it gets fixed. On the story map pages, children read a short original story, like a kite stuck in a tree or a lost lunchbox, then write a few words or draw the characters, setting, problem and solution and circle how the story ended (CCSS RL.1.3). On the problem and solution pages, they read three mini stories set at home, at school, at the park and more, match each problem to its fix, then write a fix of their own. Twenty original sheets, each with an answer key.
