FAQ
How do I use the Penguin Craft and Write?
⌄
Have children color and cut the pieces first, then glue and write in a second sitting. Display each penguin next to its writing page.
What is the Penguin Craft and Write?
⌄
Four pages: a steps page with a supply list and 7 numbered steps, a penguin body with a white belly, a parts page (eyes, beak, flippers and feet with a color tip) and a My Penguin Can... writing page. Children trace the sentence and copy a word from the box: swim, slide, dive, waddle, hop or eat fish.
Can I use the Penguin Craft and Write at home and in the classroom?
⌄
Yes. We made it for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade holiday activities, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.
How many Kindergarten to 2nd Grade Penguin Awareness Day resources are there?
⌄
5 printable resources, all free to preview. There are 23 Penguin Awareness Day resources in all, from Preschool to 3rd Grade, gathered on our Penguin Awareness Day activities page. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.
What age are Penguin Awareness Day resources for?
⌄
These are written for Kindergarten to 2nd Grade students, roughly ages 5-8. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
Can I use these Penguin Awareness Day resources for homeschool?
⌄
Yes. Nothing here assumes a classroom of 25, so they work the same one-to-one at the kitchen table as they do in a Kindergarten to 2nd Grade classroom, a learning center, or a tutoring session.
