Stand-up nativity scene craft for K to 3rd grade: a fold-up stable and 12 stand-up figures, from Mary and Joseph to the kings and a donkey. Part of our Christmas holiday activities collection.

How do I use this resource?

Print on card stock so the stable and figures stand up. Children color, cut and fold, then arrange the figures to retell the Christmas story.

What students will practice

  • Gives Kindergarten students seasonal counting, vocabulary, and fine-motor activities themed around Christmas and Easter.
  • Builds early counting and matching skills alongside coloring and cutting practice that strengthens pencil control.
  • Works as low-pressure seasonal filler for the days around a holiday break, not core skill instruction.

How do I use the Stand-Up Nativity Scene Craft?

⌄

Print on card stock so the stable and figures stand up. Children color, cut and fold, then arrange the figures to retell the Christmas story.

What is the Stand-Up Nativity Scene Craft?

⌄

Four pages: steps with a picture of the finished scene, a stable with side walls and a back wall, and two pages of figures with fold-back tabs: Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, an angel, a shepherd, two sheep, three kings with gold, frankincense and myrrh, a donkey and a star.

Can I use the Stand-Up Nativity Scene Craft at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for Kindergarten to 3rd Grade holiday activities, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

How many Kindergarten to 3rd Grade Christmas resources are there?

⌄

30 printable resources, all free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are Christmas resources for?

⌄

These are written for Kindergarten to 3rd Grade students, roughly ages 5-9. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.

Can I use these Christmas resources for homeschool?

⌄

Yes. Nothing here assumes a classroom of 25, so they work the same one-to-one at the kitchen table as they do in a Kindergarten to 3rd Grade classroom, a learning center, or a tutoring session.
