Phonics Sound Mat

Laminate a copy for each writing folder so kids can check a spelling on their own. When a child gets stuck on a word, ask which sound they hear and find it on the mat together. Say each sound and key word as a quick daily drill, a row at a time. At home, play I spy: name a sound from the mat and look for something in the house that has it.
