Use the pages as posters during a shape unit or as a guide for a shape hunt around the school. Ask students to count the sides with a finger and check the number on the card. The star and heart cards show that some shapes have curved or many sides, which is a good talking point. At home, children can photograph or sketch shapes they find in the kitchen and match them to the cards.
