My child loves word search but avoids the crossword. Should I push it?

A little, gently. Crosswords ask for more: reading a clue, thinking of the matching word, and getting the letter count and crossing letters right, which is a heavier lift than scanning a grid for an already-known word. If your child stalls, let them fill in whatever crossing letters they're sure of first, then use those letters as extra hints for the harder clues.

How much should I help with the jumbled-words worksheet?

Have your child say the picture clue or hint out loud and guess the word before they touch the scrambled letters at all. Unscrambling blind, with no guess in mind, turns this into a much slower and more frustrating puzzle than it needs to be. The letters are there to confirm a spelling, not to be the starting point.

Both. Crosswords and jumbled words still require a child to know a word's meaning to solve the clue or picture hint, they're just wrapped in a game format. Word search is more about visual scanning and spelling reinforcement than meaning, which is why it pairs well as a lighter warm-up before or after the other two.
