A cover and three levels of adjective practice about veterans, each ending with a Challenge. Level 1 has children circle the better adjective in seven pairs such as strong or weak and loyal or selfish, then write a sentence that uses one. Level 2 has them write the better adjective for the same pairs, then write a sentence with two adjectives. Level 3 has them finish nine sentences that start Veterans are with words from a bank of twelve, some of which do not fit, then write what inspiring, courageous and patriotic mean.

Can I use this Veterans Day vocabulary worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for 3rd Grade word practice, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with Veterans Day vocabulary. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

What is an adjective?

⌄

An adjective is a describing word. It tells what someone or something is like, such as brave, loyal or proud. On the Describing Veterans sheets children choose between pairs like strong or weak, then use the adjective in a sentence.
