Ages 7-8 · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs

Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher

A paragraph is a group of sentences about one idea, with a topic sentence, details and a closing sentence. These paragraph structure worksheets for 2nd grade hold 10 sheets. Seven planners show a model paragraph by a made-up student with each part color coded, then have children plan their own on a hamburger, a train, a traffic light, an ice cream cone, a staircase or five numbered boxes, about topics such as my school library, my town or ways kids can help the Earth. Two of them add a page for writing the paragraph with an indent and a checklist. Three practice sheets with answer keys pick the best topic sentence, cross out the detail that does not belong and choose the best closing sentence. The pages support W.2.2.
