Kindergarten Syllables Worksheets
Ages 5-6 · 2 sub-topics · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs
These syllables worksheets for kindergarten teach children to hear the beats in spoken words (CCSS RF.K.2.B). Children say each picture name, clap the parts and show the count: they color one circle per clap for animals like penguin and kangaroo, circle 1 or 2 claps for foods like pizza and carrot, trace the number of claps for words like umbrella and guitar, and circle the pictures with three claps. Sort pages have children cut and glue pictures like rocket, pumpkin and elephant into rows for 1, 2 or 3 claps, or draw lines from toys like puppet and xylophone to their number. Every page works from pictures, so no child has to spell a word, and a check in page ends with a score an adult writes. There are 12 original sheets, each with an answer key.
