Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher

Words rhyme when they end with the same sound, like fish and dish, and many rhyming words also share their last letters. These spell rhyming words worksheets for 2nd grade hold 6 sheets, each with an answer key (CCSS L.2.2.D). Children write two rhymes for words like cake, night, rain and spoon, change the first letter or letters to climb from sock to rock, clock and block or from rain to train, chain and pain, color and write six rhyming pairs like bell and shell, and finish six short rhymes with words like mat, lake and sight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rhyming words often end with the same letters, so a child who can spell cake can spell bake and lake by changing the first letter. These pages ask for rhymes that end with the same letters.
