Branches of the Military Cut and Paste

Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher

"Branches of the Military Cut and Paste" is written for 3rd Grade (Ages 8-9). If your little one is a year younger but already steady on Government, the page still works. You may just need to read the instructions out loud. And if they are older and branches of the military never quite stuck, this is a short review rather than busywork.

Two pages. Page 1 has a box for each of the six branches of the U.S. military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Space Force) with a circle for a picture and a line for its responsibility. Page 2 has the pictures to cut out and a Responsibility Bank of six sentences, such as This branch guards our coasts and rescues people in the water. The directions on the page read: Paste each picture in its circle. Write what the branch does. An answer key is included.

Can I use this branches of the military worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for 3rd Grade Government, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with branches of the military. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.
