Use this early in the year when names are the most meaningful words kids know. Once finished, have children compare with a partner: whose name is longer, and which letters do they share? It also makes a quick class graph of name lengths. If a name has more than 9 letters, add boxes on the back. At home, try it with siblings' or parents' names too and compare results.
