Look at each picture and write the missing beginning or ending sound to finish the CVC word. Two free pages. Part of our beginning & ending sounds alphabet collection.

How do I use this resource?

Say each picture name slowly and stretch the sounds, so children can hear where the missing sound sits. Start with page 1 because the two letter choices give extra support, then move to page 2 once the first page feels easy. In a small group, have children tap the boxes as they say each sound. At home, follow up by asking your child to think of another word that starts with the same sound.

Yes. Nothing here assumes a classroom of 25, so they work the same one-to-one at the kitchen table as they do in a Kindergarten classroom, a learning center, or a tutoring session.
