Cut out the cards and hide them around the room. An adult reads the directions aloud, and children find each card, trace the word on the recording sheet and copy it on the line beside it.

What is the Groundhog Day Write the Room?

⌄

Three pages after the cover. One page has 9 picture word cards: groundhog, shadow, burrow, sunny, cloudy, winter, spring, hibernate and predict. Two recording sheets list the same words with pictures, five on the first and four on the second, each with a word to trace and a line to copy it.

Can I use the Groundhog Day Write the Room at home and in the classroom?

⌄

Yes. We made it for Preschool to 1st Grade holiday activities, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.

How many Preschool to 1st Grade Groundhog Day resources are there?

⌄

3 printable resources, all free to preview. There are 22 Groundhog Day resources in all, from Preschool to 5th Grade, gathered on our Groundhog Day activities page. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

What age are Groundhog Day resources for?

⌄

These are written for Preschool to 1st Grade students, roughly ages 4-7. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.

Can I use these Groundhog Day resources for homeschool?

⌄

Yes. Nothing here assumes a classroom of 25, so they work the same one-to-one at the kitchen table as they do in a Preschool to 1st Grade classroom, a learning center, or a tutoring session.
