Rhyming Match Clip Cards
Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
"Rhyming Match Clip Cards" is written for Kindergarten (Ages 5-6). It also works a grade below or above: younger children can use it with an adult reading it aloud, and older ones as a quick refresher.

Clip cards where children clip the picture that rhymes with the word. A free rhyming center for K and grade 1. Part of our rhyming words alphabet collection.
How do I use this resource?
Cut the cards apart along the dashed lines and laminate them so they last through a whole year of centers. Children say the big word, then each small word, and clip a clothespin on the rhyme. Mark the right answer on the back with a dot so they can check themselves. At home, skip the clips and point instead. Ask your child for one more rhyming word for each card.

Can I use the Rhyming Match Clip Cards at home and in the classroom?
⌄
Yes. We made it for Kindergarten alphabet, and it works the same at home or at school. Families print it for one child and keep it where they will use it every day. Teachers print a copy per student or one for the whole room, whichever the day needs.
How many Kindergarten rhyming words resources are there?
⌄
1 printable resource, free to preview. Downloads are included with a ClassWeekly free trial, and every page prints on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.
What age are rhyming words resources for?
⌄
These are written for Kindergarten students, roughly ages 5-6. Many teachers also use them a grade up for review or a grade down as an extension, so use the preview to judge the fit for a particular child.
Can I use these rhyming words resources for homeschool?
⌄
Yes. Nothing here assumes a classroom of 25, so they work the same one-to-one at the kitchen table as they do in a Kindergarten classroom, a learning center, or a tutoring session.
