Ages 6-7 · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs
Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
A personal narrative is a true story about something that happened to you. These 18 personal narrative worksheets for 1st grade each open with a short model by a made-up student, such as making a sock puppet or picking apples with Grandpa, then give a topic like trying a new food, getting a haircut, a snowy day or learning to tie your shoes. Children draw what happened and write three or four sentences after printed starters such as First, I, Next, I and Last, I or I saw, I heard and I felt. Six two-page sheets add beginning, middle and end drawing boxes on page one and a page of sentences in order on page two (CCSS W.1.3). These are open writing pages with no answer key.
