Write Decimals as Fractions in Simplest Form
Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
"Write Decimals as Fractions in Simplest Form" is written for 6th Grade (Ages 11-12). If your student is a year younger but already steady on fractions & decimals, the page still works. You may just need to read the instructions out loud. And if they are older and decimals to fractions never quite stuck, this is a short review rather than busywork.

6th grade math worksheet: write 18 decimals such as 0.725 and 0.44 as fractions in simplest form. Answer key included. Part of our decimals to fractions collection.
How do I use this worksheet?
Use the simplest form page first, then the mixed numbers page. Have students write the unsimplified fraction before they reduce it.
What students will practice
- Students will write the digits over the place value, as in 0.35 = 35/100 = 7/20.
- Students will convert 18 tenths, hundredths and thousandths, such as 0.125 = 1/8.
- Students will simplify fractions like 0.775 = 31/40 and keep ones like 0.61 = 61/100.

Yes, both. We made it for 6th Grade fractions & decimals, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation.
