Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher
A sight word is a word children see often and must remember, because part of its spelling breaks the usual rules, like the ough in through or the ie in friend. These sight word spelling worksheets for 3rd grade hold 8 sheets, each with an answer key (CCSS L.3.2.E). Four lists of 12 words, from because, enough and tongue to laugh, island, whole and believe, have children trace, copy, fold, cover and write each word, then circle its tricky part. The other pages circle the right spelling in 10 sentences, fix 8 misspelled words in a note about building a fort, finish 10 sentences from a word bank and fill 10 blanks in a story about a flat tire.
