A proportion says two ratios are equal, so the cross products are equal too: 3/4 = x/12 means 4 × x = 3 × 12 and x = 9. These proportion worksheets for 6th grade hold 5 sheets, each with an answer key. Solve Proportions With Cross Multiplication has 9 whole number proportions like 72/56 = x/28, two pages round answers to the nearest tenth or hundredth, and Proportion Word Problems and Proportion Word Problems Rounded to Hundredths set up proportions for recipes, maps, trains and grapes (CCSS 6.RP.A.3 on the word problem pages). Solving a proportion by cross multiplying is a 7th grade skill in the standards, so the three equation pages carry no 6th grade code.
