FAQ

How do I use this pronoun case worksheet?

⌄

Start with Subject and Object Pronouns and its pronoun chart, then move to compound subjects. Save Who or Whom? for last, since it uses the same subject and object test.

What does this worksheet teach?

⌄

Pick pronouns in compound subjects and objects like Priya and I, then fix 3 wrong pronouns. The directions on the page read: In Part A, circle the pronoun in parentheses that is correct. In Part B, each sentence has one wrong pronoun: cross it out and write the correct pronoun on the line. An answer key is included.

Can I use this pronoun case worksheet for homeschool or classroom?

⌄

Yes, both. We made it for 6th Grade pronouns, and the page works the same whether it lands on a kitchen table or a center rotation. At home, most families go through it together and talk the answers out loud, and that talking is where most of the learning happens with pronoun case. In class it runs well as independent work while you pull a small group. Print one copy or thirty, whichever the day needs.

How do you choose the right pronoun in a compound subject?

⌄

Cover the noun and the word and, then read the sentence with only the pronoun. Theo and (she / her) sang becomes She sang, so she is correct.

Is it my friend and I or my friend and me?

⌄

Use I when the pair is the subject and me when the pair receives the action or follows a word like to, for or with. Please save a seat next to Hana and me is correct because me follows to.

When do you use whom?

⌄

Use whom where him or her would fit, such as after a preposition. With whom are you riding to the game? is one of 12 who or whom sentences.
