Rocks are grouped by how they form, and minerals are identified by properties such as luster, streak and hardness. These rocks and minerals pages hold 3 6th grade worksheets, each with an answer key. The Rock Cycle has students complete a diagram and trace paths between rock types. Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rocks has students sort 12 named rocks by clue words, and Identifying Minerals uses the Mohs scale to name five mystery samples. The Rock Cycle carries MS-ESS2-1.
