Ages 11-12 · Free previews · Print-ready PDFs

Written by Adi Ackerman, Head Teacher

Newton's three laws describe how forces change the motion of objects. There are 3 sheets for 6th grade here, each with an answer key. Newton's First Law explains inertia with seat belts and the tablecloth trick, Newton's Second Law has 8 problems on force, mass and acceleration, and Newton's Third Law has students draw the paired force in five pictures. Two of the sheets practice MS-PS2-1 and MS-PS2-2.

Frequently Asked Questions

Inertia is the tendency of an object to keep doing what it is already doing. The more mass an object has, the more inertia it has, so it is harder to start, stop or turn.
