About these printable page borders
A border turns a plain sheet into something a child wants to hang up. These frames are built for exactly that: final drafts, awards, classroom newsletters, display captions, and the writing pieces that go home at the end of a unit.
The interiors are deliberately left clear and ink-friendly, so there is room for handwriting at any size and you are not spending a cartridge on decoration. Print them as-is for handwritten work, or run them through a printer twice to layer typed text on top.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I write or type inside these borders?
- Both. The centre of each border is left clear for handwriting. To add typed text, insert the PDF as a background image in your document editor and type over it, or print the border first and run the sheet through again with your text.
- Will these use a lot of printer ink?
- They are drawn as outlines rather than filled blocks specifically to keep ink use low. If you need to save more, print in greyscale or draft quality, which still reads clearly on a display board.
- What size paper do these borders fit?
- Standard 8.5 x 11 inch portrait, with margins that stay inside the non-printable edge on typical home and school printers. Print at 100% scale so the frame is not cropped.
